Techlandia

Created by Techlandia HQ

Techlandia is a modern dungeon crawl adventure, where 1-4 players attempt to infiltrate the high-tech corporate headquarters of the Techlandia corporation. The objective is to gain entry to the invite-only Techlandia TX-1 smartphone unveiling being held in a subterranean auditorium under the Silicon Valley headquarters of the secretive Techlandia corporation.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Techlandia Update #18: Unboxing the first copy off the production line!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, May 01, 2020 at 08:56:30 PM

I'm very excited to show you this, the first "final" copy of Techlandia from the factory in China! That means the rest of the full production run should be complete within a week, and after that, our fulfillment partner (Quartermaster Logistics) will freight the game to its US warehouse and start distribution!

Best estimate is that shipping by boat from China to the US will take four weeks or so. The Pledge Manager remains open in the meantime, for the last handful of people who have not completed it.

We also have a very cool-looking neoprene playmat for the map tiles and shared decks -- you can add it in the Backerkit PM and it will ship in the same package as the game.

You can find the PM link in your email, or here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/

And if you know someone who wants to late-pledge or get any of our extras, the pre-order store is still live here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders.

All hail the company!

Techlandia update #17: Big news, see the final factory proofs here!
about 4 years ago – Fri, Mar 13, 2020 at 07:34:20 PM

Hello from Techlandia corporate HQ!

We're very pleased to report that our factory in China is now back up and running, much sooner than anyone predicted. The shutdown of virtually all production in China has affected everything from games to smartphones, but in our case, it looks like delays will be modest.

Even better, the final blank proof copy of the game and the hard-copy art proofs just arrived from Shanghai, and I wanted to share them right away. (A blank proof is a final copy of the game box and components from the the factory line, w/o art.)

One quick note: If you have not filled out the pledge manager, please do so asap.. While you're there, you can add extra copies of the game, or some cool add-ons like our sweet 14x24 playmat. You can find the PM link in your email, or here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/

And if you know someone who wants to late-pledge or get any of our extras, the pre-order store is still live here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders.

And now on to the images!

Techlandia update #16: At the factory, plus Deluxe PNP files are ready!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Jan 14, 2020 at 12:31:09 AM

Welcome to 2020! We're off to a great start, as I just signed off on the electronic proofs from our manufacturer for Techlandia -- next step is full production!

E-proof of some game cards.

Pledge Manager update

This means, if you have not filled out the pledge manager, please do so asap.. While you're there, you can add extra copies of the game, or some cool add-ons like our sweet 14x24 playmat or a signed copy of my gaming history book, "The Tetris Effect."

You can find the PM link in your email, or here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/

And if you know someone who wants to late-pledge or get any of our extras, the pre-order store is still live here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders.

Deluxe Print-and-Play update

Now that the final art and design files are signed off for manufacturing, we can release these files as a complete print-and-play package to everyone who pledged at the $8 or up level. The deluxe version differs from the original free PNP version in that it includes all the latest card art and designs, including 10 extra Gear cards, the new Investigation deck, a new Enemy card, and new QR code cards, all in high-res print-ready files, plus the V2.6 revised rules and stl files for 3D printing QR tokens and markers.

Expect a download link for that shortly for everyone who pledged via KS, to be followed by access for anyone who upgraded or added that level via Backerkit.

Prototype kits in the wild!

More good news -- by now, all of our prototype kits for backers at the $99 level have been sent out. The final shipments went out last Friday, so if you pledges at that level and don't get an original game prototype kit within the next week, drop me an email asap!

All hail the company!

Techlandia update #15: The Pledge Manager is still open, get those addresses and updates in now!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Dec 26, 2019 at 12:42:32 PM

As I gear up to head to the biggest technology trade show on the planet in a couple of weeks, the annual CES show in Las Vegas (yes, for my day job), it's a great time to remind everyone to make sure they've filled out the Techlandia Pledge Manager! More than 80% of backers have already, so big thanks to everyone for that.

If you don't have the Pledge Manager email and/or link handy, you should be able to get into it from this link, using your email address: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/

And if you know someone who wants to late-pledge or get any of our extras, the pre-order store is still live here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders.

Latest manufacturing update to come in our next missive!

All hail the company!

Techlandia update #14: Pledge Manager and pre-order store live! Lots of new extras!
over 4 years ago – Sun, Nov 24, 2019 at 06:09:46 PM

The Pledge Manager and a new Pre-Order store for Techlandia are both live right now! Of course, you probably already knew that, as more than 46% of backers have filled out the Pledge Manager in the first 24 hours.

In the PM, you can confirm your shipping address, add shipping for international orders (US shipping is free), or add some fun new extras we've cooked up.

  • There's a 14x24 playmat, with original Techlandia art and layouts for tiles and shared cards.
  • Keeping with the evil corporation theme, you can order an exclusive Techlandia corporate mug (All hail the company!)
  • And this is a very limited extra -- I've dug up a few copies of my 2016 nonfiction game history book, The Tetris Effect (as reviewed in the New York Times, etc.). Be one of the first to claim one (standard cover price, no markup) and I'll sign it for you or a loved one, mortal enemy, etc.

For most anyone reading this update, you'll want to go to https://techlandia.backerkit.com/ to get started.

If you're not a current KS backer, or want to get someone else in on the hot supernatural corporate action, most of the above is also available on our public pre-order store, located here: https://techlandia.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

And, of course, all the latest is always at TechlandiaGame.com, or follow me on Twitter for more at @danackerman
