Created by Techlandia HQ

Techlandia is a modern dungeon crawl adventure, where 1-4 players attempt to infiltrate the high-tech corporate headquarters of the Techlandia corporation. The objective is to gain entry to the invite-only Techlandia TX-1 smartphone unveiling being held in a subterranean auditorium under the Silicon Valley headquarters of the secretive Techlandia corporation.

Techlandia gets (box) organized
over 2 years ago – Sun, Aug 09, 2020 at 04:27:43 PM

Greeting from the corporate home office!

Now that all initial backers have received Techlandia, I'm excited to share my design for a custom box insert, printable on a 3D printer.

I'm personally obsessed with 3D printing inserts, organizer, and  extras for different games, so I knew Techlandia would have a few.

Here's the box insert itself, which replaces the included cardboard insert:

You can also find my 3D QR code tokens, replacing the cardboard ones, here:

And here are my prototype markers, which eventually became the red cubes in the game box. Feel free to try these instead:

In our next update, I'll share some new videos and more pics of the limited edition Techlandia playmat.

Hope you are enjoying Techlandia. Questions? Email me at

Gotta go.  I'm late for a Zoom meeting with our CEO, and I don't want him to get his tentacles in a twist.

Best regards,

Techlandia: The Case of the Missing CEO
over 2 years ago – Wed, Jul 29, 2020 at 02:58:42 PM

Four of the biggest tech CEOs are gathering on Capital Hill today, but one key figure is still missing. While Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Tim Cook of Apple, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and Sundar Pichai of Google are all testifying before House lawmakers, Techlandia CEO Dexter Ward has dodged a Congressional subpoena and is allegedly in hiding.

Fortunately, he should be pretty easy to find, especially if you're a Kickstarter backer of Techlandia -- almost all of the first wave of games have shipped from our fulfillment warehouse. If you're a US-based backer and don't have either the game or a tracking number yet, please let me know! International shipments are also in transit, but may take slightly longer to arrive.

Play, on a mat

I'm super excited by how great these custom neoprene playmats come out! They're 18x24 and have spaces for organizing all the shared elements of the game, including the map tiles and both jumbo and regular cards -- makes setup a snap. This was a limited run -- and there are just a few left -- but you can still order them through either Backerkit or our new shop, here: [Top secret corporate memo: In both stores, use the code "tentacles" for a discount]

More evil, coming soon

Now that the final game is here, I'm working on a 3D-printed custom tray for inside the box, so look for the STL file soon, as well as a PNP add-on adventure with some new mechanics.

I'm going to go watch the Congressional tech hearings, where we'll see a bunch of bigshot CEOs talk about how benevolent and non-evil their companies are, which is exactly what Dexter Ward would say, too...

Hit me up anytime at or on the game's BGG page:

If you've received your copy, a rating, review, forum comment, etc. on the all-powerful BoardGameGeek would be awesome -- BGG:

Simple setup

The Techlandia rule book is meant to be highly readable and easy to follow, but sometimes you just want to watch a video, amirite? With a little practice, I got the basic game setup down to three minutes. It might take you a little longer the first time, but just follow along with our new setup video and you'll be hunting down Tech Cultists in no time!

 Questions? Comments? Rants? Email me.

In the meantime, I just managed to snag a copy of Jaws of the Lion at Target, so you know where I'll be...

Techlandia is straight floatin' on a boat in the deep blue sea
over 2 years ago – Sat, Jun 20, 2020 at 12:05:44 AM

It's on a boat!

Here at Techlandia HQ, we've been obsessively tracking the shipping boat containing hundreds of copies of the Techlandia board game. Right now they're all floating on the ocean, somewhere near Oaxaca, Mexico.

All that to say -- those of you who pre-ordered Techlandia will have your game in hand soon, right when it starts to get unbearably hot outside and you start to wish for fall. Or a bigger A/C. Or both.

Questions? Email me

And, since we're talking boats, I'd also be happy to share a list of my yacht rock music faves, which naturally includes the Doobie Brothers classic, 'What a Fool Belieeeeeeeves!' 😎

Techlandia Pledge Manager closing sooooooooon
over 2 years ago – Wed, May 20, 2020 at 02:16:38 PM

Update your address, upgrade your pledge, or snag a Techlandia custom playmat

The boxes are on their way to the dock in Shanghai as we speak, which means Techlandia will soon be floating our way.

That also means this is your last chance to make any address changes in the Pledge Manager, add extras like the custom neoprene playmat (which is proving to be quite popular!).

If you're a Deluxe PNP level supporter, it's also your last chance to upgrade to the full game and get it in wave one.

Play Techlandia on me!

The Pledge Manager will lock down orders on Friday, May 22 (but as always, message me directly if you run into any issues).

Here's a sneak peek at the unboxed components from the final proof copy -- I especially like how the jumbo cards turned out.

Fits on apartment sized tables! Like mine...

You can find the PM link in your email, or here:

All hail the company!

- Dan

P.S. Know someone who wants to late-pledge or get any of our extras? The pre-order store is still live here:
